Red Carpet Rolled out for Insurance Market at British Insurance Awards
The insurance industry got together for its biggest in-person gathering in more than 18 months on 15 September, when Insurance Post hosted the 2021 British Insurance Awards at Battersea Evolution, London.
A fixture at the Royal Albert Hall for more than two decades, the regular home for the BIAs was unfortunately unavailable this year. However, although the latest ceremony lost a touch of the usual grandeur due to the venue move, this was more than made up for by the joy that was felt by the 1200 guests at being able to network again at a large scale social event again.
The success of the BIAs was testament to the work of the Infopro Digital events team that, despite constant Covid-19 guidance revisions and changes, never lost their enthusiasm to be part of what has been widely hailed as “an important sign of a return to normality” in a market that thrives on such interaction.
Skilfully compèred by comedian Rob Beckett, and with the hugely popular Mark DeLisser Singers returning to provide musical support, by the time the last award was handed out most of the crowd was determined to not call it a night yet. And thus it was perhaps no surprise so many people held out to the 2am curfew – dancing and catching up with old acquaintances – to make the most of what had been a tremendously successful night.
Here’s to 6 July 2022 and the return to the Royal Albert Hall for the 28th annual British Insurance Awards.
