SURCAR North American Congress focuses on going green
The SURCAR Community consists of International Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers and their main Paint Equipment and Material Suppliers specialized in the Car Body Finishing industry.
The two-yearly SURCAR Congresses started in 1964 in Cannes, France. The Community expanded to Shanghai, China in 2014 and North America in 2018. The fourth SURCAR North American Congress was hosted at the Roostertail in Detroit, Michigan on September 28th and 29th, 2021.
The main technical theme was “Painting the Future Green”. Forty-five high-profile presenters and panel discussion participants, both live and virtual, delivered 25 powerful technical presentations. More than 150 Car Painting industry experts met and interacted with leaders and specialists from the main Auto OEMs, Sub-Assembly Suppliers, Specialized Project Management, Engineering, Paint Material and Equipment Manufacturers.
The participant satisfaction survey showed that 95% of those who attended the Congress rated it as either very good or excellent, with more than nine out of 10 saying they would join the next SURCAR event and be likely to refer others to the SURCAR Community as a result!
To succeed as the first in-person event in the Car Painting industry under the current environment, SURCAR relied on a geographically dispersed workforce: SURCAR Detroit Committee members prepared the Congress, tuned the technical themes and led the two-day conference; Infopro Digital team members in Paris, New York and Hong Kong offered their unrivalled functional expertise and ensured that the SURCAR Congress took place this September.
